Mark Nicholson

Mark Nicholson is an accomplished finance and transformation leader with over twenty years of experience. As Principal at Areté Capital Partners, he focuses on driving value-creation for organizations through leveraging his expertise in turnarounds and restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and transformation management across an array of industries, including energy, chemicals, finance, technology, nonprofits, and public infrastructure.

Prior to joining Areté, Mr. Nicholson served in several interim management and CFO advisory roles for sponsor-backed portfolio companies. His focus spanned corporate strategy development, M&A execution & integration, building finance teams, and establishing financial best-practices, as well as overseeing liability management exercises. Beyond financial leadership, he often drove operational transformation initiatives, including pricing optimization, sales reorganizations, demand planning & procurement improvement, and vendor management in order to drive profitability and enhance liquidity.
