
Mark Nicholson is an accomplished finance and transformation leader with over twenty years of experience. As Principal at Areté Capital Partners, he focuses on driving value-creation for organizations through leveraging his expertise in turnarounds and restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and transformation management across an array of industries, including energy, finance, technology, nonprofits, and public infrastructure.
Prior to joining Areté, Mr. Nicholson served in several interim management and CFO advisory roles for sponsor-backed portfolio companies focused on corporate strategy development, M&A execution & integration, building finance teams, and implementing financial best practices, as well as overseeing liability management exercises.
Mark developed his turnaround and restructuring focus at Alvarez & Marsal, where he served as an advisor to debtors on both in- and out-of-court restructurings.
Mr. Nicholson began his finance career in investment banking with RBC Capital Markets and Southwest Securities, where he focused on infrastructure project finance and public-private partnerships.
Mark has a Master of Business Administration from the Texas McCombs School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
