David Drinan

Mr. Drinan is a Principal with over twenty-five years of experience investing, leading turnaround, restructuring and interim management engagements, providing investment banking services and advising early-stage technology companies on their growth plans.  He has demonstrated success as a growth equity investor/advisor which augments his financial and operational leadership capabilities developed during his experience leading turnaround & restructuring engagements. 

Prior to joining Areté, Mr. Drinan advised an early-stage venture capital fund as well as several early-stage technology companies on their business plans, go-to-market strategies, strategic partnerships and raising growth capital.  

Mr. Drinan has over Seventeen years of experience in interim management, turnaround & restructuring and profit improvement program management.  He has served as Interim CFO or Deputy CRO for several companies.  In such roles, he takes an analytical approach to identifying and maximizing value for stakeholders and has developed the operational expertise to execute on stabilization efforts as well as growth opportunities.  He has experience in several industries including restaurants, retail, CPG, real estate, manufacturing distribution, specialty chemicals, power, mining, oil & gas services and healthcare.  He has a deep spike of experience with restaurants and restaurant technology companies.  

Mr. Drinan began his career in investment management focused on tech, telecom and consumer stocks and has experience in Venture Capital and Private Equity.

Mr. Drinan earned his Master of Business Administration at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and Bachelor of Arts in Finance from The University of Illinois.  He is a volunteer with Robin Hood, fighting poverty in New York City.
