Mr. Baik is a Vice President at Areté Capital Partners with over twelve years of experience across restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate finance in automotive & industrial, consumer retail & products, energy & utilities, financial services, and infrastructure projects.
Prior to joining Areté Capital Partners, John was a Senior Vice President at AlixPartners focused on strategic review, business planning, liquidity management, investor due diligence, and supply chain management mandates in refinancing and restructuring engagements.
Prior to Booth Graduate of School of Business, John served as Investment Analyst with International Finance Corporation, a private investment arm of the World Bank Group, managing IFC’s underperforming investments across various jurisdictions in both developed
and emerging markets in LatAm and MENA regions. He also served as Investment Banking Analyst for Societe Generale Corporate & Investment Bank’s M&A Group in New York and Staff Account for Deloitte in Toronto.
John has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Toronto. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
