Michael is a practicing attorney in Phoenix, Arizona, having led his law practice focused on restructuring in Chapter 11 cases and in out-of-court workouts for more than three decades.
Michael’s practice has emphasized all areas of bankruptcy, including representations of debtors, creditors’ committees, secured creditors and trustees in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11. He has served as a Chapter 11 trustee in more than one dozen high-profile cases and has also been appointed as a post-confirmation trustee/liquidating agent. He was recently appointed to serve as a subchapter V of Chapter 11 in the District of Arizona through the U.S. Department of Justice’s Trustee Program.
Michael has also served on boards as a restructuring advisor both in out-of-court workouts as well as in Chapter 11 cases. He has been active in the Phoenix bankruptcy community for decades, having served as a lawyer delegate to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, the chair of the District of Arizona bankruptcy court’s local rules committee and as a mentor in the Arizona Bankruptcy American Inn of Court.
